On Saturday, September 17, family and friends held a vigil at Flowery Branch in honor of Gucci.
Rows of people wearing powder blue t-shirts, Pastor Tony Wright turns his family around to see that people still care about Gucci.
“Your children are very important to us,” Wright said. “Your baby is a precious person who has taken us through paths and had a positive impact on our lives.”
Gooch’s boyfriend, Emmanuel Kevin Harris Jr., 32. Indicted in October 2021 For fatally stabbing Gucci. He was charged with malicious murder, felony murder, aggravated assault and possession of a knife during a felony.
Vigil organizers have invited representatives from the Partnership Against Domestic Violence to speak and provide information at the vigil. The speaker noted that it takes an average of seven to nine attempts for a person to leave an abusive relationship.
Speakers also discussed the red flags of a potentially abusive relationship, such as certain controlling behaviors and attempts to move the relationship forward quickly.
“If Jordan’s passing can help other people’s lives, then his passing for me will help me,”
Gooch’s father, Ondre Gooch, said.
Wright reminded the crowd gathered at the vigil how he remembered Gucci, the girl who smiled and hugged the most, always having a good word to share.
Jordan’s sister, Kennedy Gooch, said Jordan was a very confident and independent person.
“Even if you only chat for a few minutes, she’ll make you feel like you’re her best friend,” Kennedy Gooch said.
Jordan Gooch previously worked as a sales representative and took a sales manager course before her death.
Kennedy said her sister didn’t like the 9-to-5 office job, but she was really good at getting along with people.

The 27-year-old dreams of visiting the Eiffel Tower in Paris, a goal she hopes to achieve on her 30th birthday.
The family has a tradition of taking beach trips to the Destin area every few years, though it was cut short by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Boyd and Kennedy Gooch said they plan to scatter Jordan’s ashes on the beach and travel to Paris on Jordan’s 30th birthday, where they will also be scattered.
Harris’ trial is scheduled for November.
Harris’ defense attorney, Chris Van Rosen, said his client insisted early on that he was acting in self-defense.
“We want people to wait to hear from both sides before passing judgement,” Van Rosen said.
