With the release of her newest single, “Descontrolada”, a feat with funk legend MC Carol, yesterday, popstar Pabllo Vittar kicked off her new era. Mixing pop, electronic and funk music, the drag queen explored a new sound in her long career – which may indicate that more news is coming.

But, what to expect from this new album to come? Come find out with the report why, in Pabllo’s own words, “’It’s time to start this era”!

THE NEW DISC WILL BE 100% IN PORTUGUESE

After “Batidão Tropical”, the queen’s fourth album, released last year, and her completely Brazilian sound, many fans expected Pabllo Vittar to follow the path of other popstars and turn to the international market.

It really seemed that this was the case after “Number One”, a single with DJ Rennan da Penha, mixing Portuguese and English. However, on Twitter and on Instagram Stories, the singer revealed that this is not what is to come – the new album is “focused on my daughters from BR”.

“No, no, lives! My next album is 100% in Portuguese, aimed at my daughters from BR”, replied Pabllo to an internet user who theorized that the album would be aimed at an international audience.

Now, with “Descontrolada” released, you can see that the sound path of the record will be inspired by other Brazilian rhythms, for example, funk.

“Brazil is an extremely rich country culturally and musically speaking, and why not explore and learn more and more with so many differences and specificities?”, the singer said.

Continuing: “MC Carol’s work was a milestone for Brazilian funk and being able to be alongside such talented women who know their importance within the music market – which is still not very diverse – is undoubtedly valuable”.

WHAT WILL THE ‘LOOK’ OF THE NEW ALBUM BE?

The star’s albums are often accompanied by a very solid aesthetic – for example, her record “111” came with a visual fluctuating between superhero and pop star, which continued in music videos for hits like “Flash Pose”. What’s next in this new era?

Taking into account the video for “Descontrolada”, the looks of drag queen and funk singer MC Carol mix influences from the 2000s, a time that is very fashionable today, and a futuristic aesthetic, which extends to the intro video of the new era. that Vittar posted.

The clip’s director, Gigs, stated that he decided to create a “futuristic underground” look for “Uncontrolled.” In the same vein, the stylist Vitor Moreira mixed these references with the feeling of fun that the music conveys.

“The looks of both are full of textures, colors and layers to show that fashion is also our ally when having fun”, comments Moreira.

NEW PARTNERSHIP EASTER EGG

Appearing briefly in the new clip, a sign at the entrance of the nightclub where Pabllo spends the night may have hinted at a long-awaited partnership by drag queen fans. In capital letters, the sign reads “LADY LESTE”, nickname and album name of another of the most famous drag queens in Brazil: Gloria Groove.

Earlier this year, Groove released his second studio album “Lady East”, after using that name on several songs. The album features hits like “Vermelho” and “A Queda”.

Since the two singers’ appearance in Aretuza Lovi’s “Joga Bunda” in 2018, fans of both have been asking for a collaboration between the two – and it may be closer than expected.

The website PapelPop had already shared, in August, a rumor that Vittar and Groove would be in a song together that would be released in October, with a horror theme inspired by “Stranger Things”.

Will it come around?
