Gunmen on Friday killed six individuals, together with two police inspectors throughout an assault within the Ajaokuta space of Kogi State.
The spokesman for the state police command, William Ovye-Aya, who confirmed the incident in a press release Saturday in Lokoja, stated the opposite victims have been expatriate employees of West Africa Ceramics Firm in Ajaokuta and their drivers.
He stated: “The six victims, two expatriates, two firm drivers and two police inspectors died within the change of fireplace with the hoodlums alongside Lokoja-Ajaokuta highway at about 8:00 p.m. on Friday.

“The expatriates have been being escorted by police to the Ceramic Firm that night, when the gunmen attacked them.
“The Space Commander and a detachment of navy within the space have been redeployed to the scene of the incident earlier than the attackers fled.
“The Kogi State Commissioner of Police, Edward Egbuka, had visited the scene for an on-the-spot evaluation.
“The CP ordered the deployment of further operational property consisting of Operatives of the Police Cellular Pressure, Counter Terrorism Unit, Fast Response Unit and State Intelligence Bureau in synergy with different safety companies to revive normalcy within the space.”
